TRAVIS RETTENMAIER
Travis is a crafty tennis veteran known for his hands. He played all four grand slams and reached the round of 16 at the French Open in 2010. New to the pickleball world, he is aiming to transfer his skills to dominate the kitchen. His game style is aggressive, as he tries to bait his opponents into a hand battle and enjoys nothing more than a bit of banter.
Martina Frantova
Originally from Bratislava, Slovakia… Started playing tennis at the age of 10 and was ranked WTA 837 in singles and 694 in doubles… Played D-I college tennis at NC State University, where she earned All-ACC honors twice… Before arriving to NC State, played one season at Mississippi State… Has been playing pickleball since 2019, but only recently started playing more tournaments… Owns and operates a tennis and pickleball retail store in Naples, FL called ProAm Tennis & Pickleball… Speaks three languages… Has a younger sister, Nina, and two German Shepherds – Paco and Sasha.
Donald Young
Donald Young is a professional athlete who transitioned from a successful tennis career to the rapidly growing sport of pickleball. A former tennis prodigy from Chicago, Donald reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 38 and made deep runs at the US Open. Now, he brings his speed, agility, and tactical expertise to pickleball, quickly becoming a top competitor in the sport. Donald is also a passionate advocate for pickleball, dedicated to promoting its growth and inspiring new players. His versatility and love for the game continue to define his athletic journey.
Christa Gecheva
Born in Le Bach, Saar Land, Germany… Lived in Bulgaria until age five… Family moved to London and she was raised in Wimbledon beginning at age 10… Played on Junior Tennis Tour in Europe… Recruited to the University of Wyoming (2011-2015)… Was an assistant for UW (2015-2017) while earning an MBA and a second Masters Degree… Majored in animal and veterinary science (pre-vet) and operates an animal sanctuary for homeless cats and dogs in Bulgaria with her father, Georgi… Has one brother, Theodor, a tennis coach in London.
